Farewell Swim Buddies

After three months of swim lessons, Brayden's swim buddies Frances and Benjamin are calling it quits for the summer. Brayden is staying for the month of May and hopefully he won't be too lost without his swim friends.

With three months of lessons, Brayden is much more comfortable in the water. He can float on his back almost independently and has no fear of putting his head under water. He's also getting better with swimming and loves practicing the leg kicking.

Success at the Zoo

Everyone was very excited about our first trip to the zoo this year. There was suppose to be a couple new exhibits, one where you get to pet the sharks and the second was some panda bears visiting the Indy zoo for awhile. Brayden and I went with our friends Kristi and Frances and we had a great time. The kids were a little apprehensive with the sharks initially but once they warmed up they loved petting their fins. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the Pandas because their exhibit doesn't open until Memorial weekend. Despite that disappointment, the kids were awesome the entire day even though they missed their normal nap times. Then just after lunch, Gary surprised Brayden by meeting us to finish off the zoo. Brayden was very excited to be able to hang out with his Daddy. It was a great time had by all! Even with the cool new sharks, Brayden says his favorite animal is still the elephants, especially the baby elephant. He could watch them for hours, which is pretty amazing for his 3 year old attention span.

Easter Recap

Sorry I am really behind on updating my blog. Things have been really busy at the Jewell house. Well, here is a recap of Easter. We went down to Osgood and Batesville to spend some time with our families. Brayden had a great time with the annual egg hunt at Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Collin's house on Saturday. Brayden did a great job finding his eggs.

So then he helped his cousins find theirs. It was a little chili outside but no one under 16 seemed to notice.

Sunday morning upon arising, Brayden found a little present from the Easter bunny. He loved everything in his basket but his favorites were his tattoos and gum. Then we colored some Easter eggs. It was a lot of fun but a big mess. It's a good thing Mamaw and Papaw are getting new kitchen counter tops.
