We are watching our friends' two girls this weekend and Brayden has been so excited. Then yesterday when he was getting ready for bed he asked where their parents were going to be. I simply explained that they would still be home but without their children. When he asked why, I said that they just wanted some alone time. He proceeds to tell me that we need to do that too. So I ask him where he wants to go so his Daddy and I can have some alone time. And he informs me that he meant the two of us needed some alone time but that baby Madisyn could stay too because "she is so adorable, I could look at her all of the time."
Then this morning, Brayden was trying to help me get Madisyn's new sandals on her wiggly, uncooperative feet. He finally got them on and said, "you are so cute, I could just eat you up."
I love that he adores his sister, and I love his sweet five year-old personality!

6 Months-Old
I know it's horrible, six months since the last posting. Life is just a little crazier with two kids as most of you already know. Well, Madisyn is doing great. She is a happy, smiley baby and loves to explore and interact with people. She loves playing in her bouncy but her favorite thing seems to be singing to Papaw Buxton while he carries her around the house. It is absolutely adorable and she definitely has her Papaw wrapped!!! At her six month apt she was 26.5in and 15lbs 6oz. That put her in the 75% for height and 40% for weight, despite her continued reflex. She is trying to catch up with Brayden! In addition to her growth spurt, she is sitting up on her own, talking all of the time, attempting to crawl, and eating baby food even though she prefers real food. She also drinks from a cup or straw and had her first haircut. She did a great job at her first cut, which is more than I can say for the hair dresser.Madisyn absolutely loves her bubby. He makes her smile and laugh all the time and it seems the louder, the more she likes it. He continues to sing to her and is really the best brother we could ever ask for. It is so much fun to see them together. He tries to teach her how to crawl and tells her all about things that she is going to do when she gets bigger. We are very blessed to have such great children!

One Month Apt
Madisyn had her one month apt today. She weighed in at a whopping 9lb 8oz (50%) and measured 22in (75%). It is so exciting to have an average baby. No more 3rd percentiles for the Jewells! MD says she looks great and wants her to stay on Alimentum for at least 4-6months. Only downer is she tested positive for alpha thalassemia but at least we know what to expect. Back to the doc in a month (hopefully not any sooner).

Maddie loves her big brother and vice versa!

Soccer Player?
This fall Brayden decided he wanted to give soccer a shot. He loved practices but soon decided that there was just too much running during a game. During the games, there was a lot of sitting down on the field and volunteering to take breaks. Despite Brayden deciding that soccer was not his sport, he toughed it out and even scored a goal the last game. Then to add icing to the cake, he got a very cool holographic medal.

Who's Who?
Okay, I guess the bow doesn't make this game much fun. Just thought it was neat to see how much they look alike. I love chubby cheek babies!
